This piece is inspired by a pioneering figure of West Coast hip-hop—an artist whose raw voice, unfiltered lyrics, and street-driven storytelling helped define the genre known as gangsta rap. The portrait is created entirely with fragments of indigo-dyed boro fabric.

The subject’s unmistakable silhouette—shaded eyes behind dark glasses, the iconic cap, the cool yet commanding posture—represents more than just an individual. It embodies an era, a movement, and a voice that reshaped the narrative of hip-hop in the 1990s and beyond.

Each piece of vintage indigo fabric carries its own history, texture, and quiet intensity.
