Mikoshi – Spirit in Indigo

本作は、日本の祭で神を運ぶ神輿（みこし）を、藍染の襤褸（ぼろ）生地の断片で再構築した作品です。江戸前神輿を参考に、頂点の鳳凰、力強い巴紋、華やかな化粧綱、そして蕨手などの意匠を取り入れ、細部まで表現しました。

藍の濃淡を活かして光と影を描き出し、祭の躍動感と荘厳さを同時に表現。日常で用いられていた半纏や着物、帯の断片は、いまや伝統と共同体の精神を讃える象徴として新たに息づいています。

古材を再利用したチーク素材のフレームは、時を刻んだ木目が藍染布の深みと調和し、作品にさらに温かみと奥行きを加えています。また、本作にはNFT（非代替性トークン）が付帯し、所有権と真正性が保証されます。

藍染と祭礼文化、そして職人技が交差するこの作品は、江戸の活気と美意識「粋」を現代に甦らせる一枚です。

This work reimagines the Mikoshi, the portable shrine carried during Japanese festivals, reconstructed entirely from fragments of indigo-dyed boro textiles. Inspired by the Edo-mae Mikoshi, it incorporates symbolic details such as the phoenix atop the roof, the bold tomoe crest, the decorative ropes, and the distinctive warabite forms, each carefully expressed through layered fabric.

The nuanced shades of indigo convey both light and shadow, capturing the vibrant energy of the festival while evoking the dignity of craftsmanship. Everyday garments—once worn as jackets, kimonos, or sashes—have been transformed into a tribute to tradition and the communal spirit that the mikoshi embodies.

The piece is complemented by a reclaimed teak frame, whose aged grain harmonizes with the depth of indigo, adding warmth and authenticity. An NFT (non-fungible token) and digital certificate accompany the work, ensuring its authenticity and secure ownership.

Blending indigo craft, festival culture, and artisanal expression, this artwork revives the dynamism of Edo celebrations and the refined aesthetic of iki in a contemporary form.
