Ichimatsu Design – Indigo Harmony

本作は、日本の伝統文様「市松（いちまつ）」をモチーフに、藍染の古布を用いて再構築した一点物のミニアートです。市松文様は、交互に並ぶ正方形が「連続」「繁栄」「平和なつながり」を象徴し、江戸時代から現代に至るまで幅広く愛されてきた吉祥文です。

藍染の端切れを一片ずつ貼り合わせ、ペイントやプリントを用いずに布の質感と藍の濃淡だけで構成しました。異なる藍のトーンが交差しながらも調和を保つこの文様は、まるで人や時間のつながりを表すように、静かで穏やかなリズムを奏でています。

本作にはNFT（非代替性トークン）が付帯しており、作品の真正性と所有権がデジタル上で保証されます。サインや紙の証明書に代わり、ブロックチェーン上で作家情報と履歴を永続的に記録する、新しい形の証明です。

Ichimatsu Design – Indigo Harmony

This one-of-a-kind mini artwork reinterprets the traditional Japanese Ichimatsu (checkerboard) pattern using fragments of vintage indigo-dyed boro fabric. The alternating squares, symbolizing continuity, prosperity, and balanced connection, have been celebrated since the Edo period as a motif of harmony and good fortune.

Each piece of indigo fabric was hand-applied without any paint or print, relying entirely on the natural texture and tonal contrast of the cloth. The interplay of deep and light blues creates a tranquil rhythm — a quiet dialogue between structure and spontaneity, order and freedom.

An NFT (non-fungible token) accompanies this work, providing verifiable digital authentication and ownership. Instead of a physical signature or paper certificate, the blockchain preserves the artist’s record and provenance as a lasting form of proof.
